Careers

Electronic Hardware Engineer

We are seeking an electrical engineering candidate with a strong background in low power, low noise analog circuit design for developing next-generation body worn sensor technologies. The candidate will work directly with senior management in the hardware development team to evolve the existing product platform and translate advanced electronics research into commercial products. A cross disciplinary engineering perspective is fundamental, as electronic circuit designs must interface directly with skin-contact electrode materials as well as additional multi-sensing modalities, such as inertial measurement, force, and pressure distribution technologies. Candidates must have a proven track record of solving multi-disciplinary challenges and must exhibit a strong passion for engineering. The position will require exploratory activities to inform research projects, as well as mission-critical development for ongoing manufacturing efforts. Candidates will be involved with the full product life cycle, from requirement definition, design, development, verification, validation and final product release.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead research in developing prototype sensors, evaluating hardware and improving technology
  • Perform senior-level prototype design and development of research ideas into commercial products
  • Organize and perform pilot studies for developing body sensor concepts for research proposals
  • Design and build custom hardware for internal research efforts
  • Work with other senior staff to define effective product maps and product evolution strategies Debug mixed-signal circuit board assemblies using schematic and layout information
  • Produce clear documentation pertaining to hardware projects

Required Qualifications

The Candidate must:

  • Be enrolled in or have recently completed an undergraduate degree program in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited 4-year institution
  • Have experience in PCB design and layout of low noise, mixed-signal circuit schematics
  • Be motivated to solve problems independently
  • Have extensive experience in using bench equipment (DVM, Signal sources, oscilloscope)
  • Be comfortable working with 3D mechanical data & models
  • Have strong organizational skills for managing data collection activities
  • Be familiar with medical device development activities or ISO13485 product development activities.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be currently enrolled in or have recently completed a graduate degree program in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited 4-year institution
  • Have 2+ years of prior industry experience
