GAITRite

The GAITRite script processes the output from a GAITRite pressure mat.  In order to function as desired, the GAITRite data must be imported according to the following:

Prior to importing the .csv GAITRite file, open the file in excel and delete all columns to the right of (including) "Record #", as we are only capable of processing the step-by-step data.  Ensure that each data type (column) has the same number of points.  Save this file as a CSV and import it to EMGworks.

Two of the channels in the GAITRite Data Set (the imported data, containing all channels) must be selected as parameters.  The first is for the parameter called Time Base Series.  This parameter will define the timing of events, such as heel down.  It is recommended to chose a channel such as "First Contact" or "Last Contact" for this parameter.  The second is for the parameter Left / Right Foot Series.  It is intended that the user will pick the GAITRite channel called "Left/Right Foot" for this parameter, as this channel indicates which foot corresponds to which data point.

The script will do one of two things with the rest of the channels in the GAITRite Data Set.  If it is an "event" channel, the output will be a series containing spikes at each event.  The spikes will have a magnitude of 1, while the remainder of the series will have a magnitude of 0.  An "event" channel is a channel that contains times as its data, such as the "Heel On" channel.  These "event" channels produce a series of spikes, each representing a data point in channel such as "Heel On".  If it is a channel containing locations, the output will be a linearly interpolated series representing the location as a function of time.  The time correlation will be determined from the parameter "Time Base Series"

Each channel will be processed as described above, as well as split into a left foot channel and right foot channel.  Therefore, each input channel gets two output channels, one corresponding to the events or location of the left foot, and one corresponding the events or location of the right foot.

The intended use for this script is to be run on the entire GAITRite Data Set.
