Delsys Seminar with Dr. Fuminari Kaneko
Dr. Fuminari Kaneko, Associate Professor in the Laboratory of Sensory Motor Science and Sports NeuroScience of Sapporo Medical University (Japan) visited Delsys (Natick, Massachusetts USA) on July 1st 2016. Dr. Kaneko presented his recent research work “Introduction of a novel augmented reality rehab system and the effect of cognitive stimulus on motor function in patients with stroke.”
Prof. Fuminari Kaneko presented a recently developed novel rehab system for patients with stroke and other neurological motor impairments. The application of the system in therapy and the effect of visual stimulus on kinesthetic perception were discussed.

Associate Professor in the Laboratory of Sensory Motor Science and Sports NeuroScience of Sapporo Medical University
Dr. Fuminari Kaneko is currently working as an Associate Professor at Sapporo Medical University (Japan) in the School of Health Sciences. He has been awarded the Research Fellowship from Japan-North America Medical Exchange Foundation. He worked as visiting research fellow at NeuroMuscular Research Center, Boston University, USA in 2000. Since 2001 he has worked as scientific researcher in National Institute of Advanced industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan. From 2010 to 2011, he has been supported by JSPS Excellent Young Researcher Overseas Visit Program and has worked as visiting researcher at Perception et Controle du Mouvement Humain Laboratoire de Neuroscience Integrative et Adaptative, Universite de Provence, France. He is also the President of Japanese Association of Physical Therapy Fundamentals.
His research interests include system-neuroscience for physical therapy, and sensory motor neuroscience.
