Creating a New Plot using the Context Menu

To create a new plot:

1.     Select the desired Data Series or Data Files to plot by clicking on their names in the Data window of the Workspace. This will highlight the Data Series or Data File in blue as portrayed below. Multiple Data Series from one or several Data Files can be selected by holding the <Ctrl> key while clicking on the Data Series. A range of Data Series can be selected by clicking the first series in the range, holding down <Shift>, and clicking the last series in the rage.  Right click on the name of the desired Data Series or Data Files and choose one of the plot options.

Plot as Subplots

This will plot the selected series as subplots in a single document.  The color and axis settings will be taken as the last defaults set in the Plot Wizard.  The layout of rows and columns will be selected so that the layout is as close to square as possible.

Plot Separately

This will plot each selected series in it's own document.  This is useful for performing ad-hoc comparisons between data series.  The color and axis settings will be taken as the last defaults set in the Plot Wizard.

Plot Overlaid

This will plot the selected series overlaid in a single subplots in a single document.  The color and axis settings will be taken as the last defaults set in the Create Plot Wizard.

 

2.     A Plot with the specified Data Series will appear in the work area and an icon will appear for the Plot in the Plot window of the Workspace. The Plot is created using the default settings. The default settings can be changed by running the Plot Wizard by choosing Plot > Create Plot... from the Main Menu.
